In the heart of St.Gallen

Amid the medieval houses and the monastery, businesspeople, students, retirees, and families with strollers mingle. From here, you have a wonderful view of the cathedral, which is well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Just around the corner is another of St.Gallen’s cultural landmarks: the Abbey Library. The oldest library in Switzerland, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983, houses the St.Gallen Abbey Plan, the oldest surviving architectural plan in Europe.
