SketchPoint 3 – Wiboradaplatz
In the footsteps of the first woman canonized by the Catholic Church.
Wiborada (died May 1, 926, in St. Gallen) was a hermit, consecrated virgin, and martyr of the Catholic Church. She lived as an encluse in St. Gallen and was killed during a Hungarian invasion. Her final resting place in the Church of St. Mangen was unknown for a long time, yet it remained a destination for many pilgrims over the centuries. Wiborada was canonized by Pope Clement II in 1047, making her the first woman in the world to be canonized by a pope. A great spot for sketching, where the spatial atmosphere can be captured from various angles.
