Brindarica Bose

Brindarica Bose, is an Indian by birth and now a Swiss citizen. She works part-time in the publishing industry, and as an art teacher in Migros Klubschule. For her, urbansketching is like storytelling. She published a sketching book "Sketching Diaries" with four other Swiss artists in 2020. Her artworks are colourful and although watercolours are her first love, she loves mixing pencils, pens, crayons and anything that she can lay her hands on, while urbansketching. Her style is rather "fast and spontaneous" to capture the essence of a scene.

Urbansketching on Cloud 9 – Sketching with Colours and Speed

This workshop will focus on how you can grab the essence of a place with colours and few important lines. You shall receive basic instruction about perspective, composition, values and watercolour techniques. You can use just watercolours and pens, or also bring along your mixed media tools like colour pencils, pens, crayons/pastels, and charcoals.

You shall learn how to filter out elements, and focus on one or two objects in an urban landscape. There will also be "speed sketching" sessions, which will urge you to work more instinctively. Be ready to make mistakes, spill watercolour, get furious, but also to learn and have fun!

Material:
Watercolours, Wasserfest/permanent black ink pen, Sketchbook (preferably 200 gsm above), or loose papers, hardboard (to keep paper on), sitting stool and a cap, water container and brushes; colour pencils (any brand will do), brushpens (useful), any other tool you want to experiment with.
