André Sandmann
André is co-owner of the design and brand agency Pikka in Zurich and co-founded the blog "Urban Sketchers Switzerland" in 2012. In recent years, his passion for drawing has also played a stronger role professionally. As a live illustrator he accompanies events and paints entire walls at company workshops.

Under the arcades
Six kilometres of arcades line Bern's old town and offer us many exciting motifs. Protected from rain and heat, we draw the interplay of medieval architecture with contemporary, urban elements. We examine three central aspects of a good drawing: 1. the rhythm of the arches liven up our lines, 2. light and shadow create exciting contrasts and 3. perspective ensures an impressive depth of the picture.
Material:
Fountain pen or dip pen with ink, watercolors and brush (thin and medium-wide).
