"top down" and "bottom up" when drawing
With playful exercises we explore what can lead us when we draw. Instead of trying to fulfil (our) conceptions and expectations ("top down"), we experiment primarily with "bottom up": perceiving with all our senses, letting us be touched and surprised, playing with coincidence ... entering into a "dialogue" with the sketch, approaching with color areas and lines and following other inspirations, not yet knowing where the sketch is going.
This workshop is suitable both for advanced sketchers who want to draw more sensuously, as well as for beginners who (beyond old restrictive drawing experiences) simply want to playfully engage with their very own visual language.
Material:
Barbara draws with fountain pen, waterproof ink, watercolour paint, coloured pencil, chalk, …
Advanced: What you like, something for thin and thick lines and something for areas that go over each other. Watercolour, wide brush (e.g. kitchen brush)
