Tine Klein

Tine's grandfather painted with her, he was a painter, and so sketching became her profession. She is a dipl. ING RP, popularly known as a town planner. In her late twenties she was almost paralyzed. During this time she was trained by the painter Leif Skoglöff. The first jobs came quickly. When she was able to walk again, she lived in Asia. There the pen became a language! Today she teaches painting; Profession or vocation? It doesn't matter, it's a joy!

The shorthand of the city

There is much to see in the city! Much too much! Alone because of the line thickness it is impossible to put everything on the paper, the result are overfilled pictures. But pictures need life, they should tell a story! The solution are shortcuts. You show things without painting them in all their detail. The course helps to develop your own handwriting: Where can you be loose and free? What do you leave out and where can you make life easy for yourself through abstraction? When do you use the brush? Or rather the pencil? The learning goal is to recognize meaningful simplification possibilities. In doing so, we use the imagination of our viewer! City shorthand: the art of simplification.

Material:
A beautiful drawing often has to do with simplification. Besides the normal material there should be one or two brush pencils with fine line width. Colors medium gray or black. I use these to hint at details. (These fine gauge brush pens are available from several brands. They come from the calligraphy e.g. Brush Sign Pen from Pentel or Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen Brush).
