Workshop 10 (German): September 19, 09:00-12:00
Capture the view of Zuoz and its surroundings with coloured pencils and sketchbook

For travel sketches there is usually a sketchbook in a handy format. In Zuoz we would like to capture the village and the magnificent surroundings with sketches in travel format. In doing so, we are concerned with the image detail and proportions. We use different perspectives to represent the architecture. Finally, when sketching, we work with line/hatching, light/shadow, foreground/background, sharpness/blur and pay attention to the beautiful Engadine late summer colours.

With Urban Sketching we want to record our impressions and experiences in the sketchbook. The implementation and detail accuracy can be very different. A sketch should not be a "photo substitute", but should bring in personal and subjective perception.

We work with pencil, fineliner and coloured pencils. Caran d`Ache provides colour pencils for the course participants.
